Research Data Management

Our CRC adheres to the DFG Guidelines on Research Data Management (RDM), committed to making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). Key initiatives and infrastructure are in place to ensure systematic, secure, and transparent data handling:

RDM Training

Obligatory RDM training for all CRC members and the “FAIRplay” workshop series foster best practices in data handling, software use, and data documentation across the CRC.

Data management board

A dedicated Data Management Board, consisting of RDM managers from CRC projects and experts from JGU’s Research Data Team, oversees all RDM practices.

Current members of the board:

Project-Specific Data Management Plans (DMPs)

Each CRC project creates its own DMP, establishing tailored guidelines for data storage, documentation, and long-term access. These plans are aligned with the CRC’s centralized policy for uniformity and quality control.

Expanding Infrastructure and FAIR Compliance

We are actively expanding our centralized data storage to meet project demands and enable collaborative data sharing. All archived data follow FAIR principles, ensuring it is documented, accessible upon publication, and ready for broader reuse within the scientific community.

In line with open-data practices in physics, analyzed data will be made available through repositories such as HEPData, GitLab, and journal supplements. The CRC’s approach aligns with community standards, guaranteeing that processed data is shared transparently while preserving publication rights and licensing where appropriate.

We are committed to advancing responsible and innovative data management, supporting both present and future scientific inquiry.
